Obituary of Larry M. Curtis
LARRY M. CURTIS, 70, passed away at his residence in Belfast on January 7, 2011. He was born in Belfast on September 10, 1940, son of Stanley and Gladys (Dunton) Curtis. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Larry was a skilled machinist who owned and operated his lobstering business with his wife. He and his sons, Mark and Gary, spent a lot of time working on the boat together. While living in Florida, he made custom tricycles out of motorcycles. He loved boating and the sea.
He was predeceased by his father and his dog Delila. Survivors include his mother; his wife of nearly 25 years, Regina Curtis of Belfast; daughter, Christine Simmons and husband Roy of Troy, New York, Mark Curtis and wife Jennifer of Mechanicsville, New York, Gary Cook of Belfast and Troy Cook of Paisley, Florida; sister Judith Witt and husband Grady of Morrill, Roland Curtis and wife Julie of Deland, Florida; grandchildren, Roy Jr., Sarah, Matthew, Shay, Brianna, Kenneth, Latisha; great-grandson Shane-Patrick; several nieces, nephews and cousins; good friends, Tony Johns of Florida, Bob and Priscilla Sanborn, Phil Sanborn and doggy Damien.
