Obituary of Ruby M. Hills

Ruby M. (Mulligian) Hills, 92, of Belfast passed away January 25, 2011 at Maine Veterans Home in Augusta. She was born in Berlin, New Hampshire on December 19, 1918, a daughter of James and Frances (McKinley) Milligian. Ruby served as a nurse in the U.S. Army during World War II receiving two Bronze Stars in honor of her service. She was the Belfast Public Health nurse for Waldo County for many years. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Maine Hills Jr. and her oldest son, Maine Hills III; and her son-in-law, Capt. Galen Howes. Survivors include her children, Capt. John Hills and fiance Carole of Portland, Peter Hills of Waldo, Parker Hills of Belfast and Ellen Howes of Arundel; two grandchildren, Isaac and his wife Angela Howes; Geneva Howes and fiance Matthew Kantor. Family and friends are invited to call from 6-8 p.m. Friday January 28th at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast where funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Kate Winters officiating.
