Obituary of Charles E Mills

Morrill: Charles E. Mills, 58, died 2/18/2011 surrounded by his family at his residence in Morrill. He was born Oct. 11, 1952 in Waltham, MA, the son of Leslie and Nancy (Mandile) Mills. Charlie graduated from Cony High School and Northeastern University College of Pharmacy. He practiced pharmacy at Augusta General Hospital and then at Waldo County General Hospital. From 1981 until his retirement in 2005, he served as Director of Pharmacy. Charlie continued working at E.M.M.C. in the outreach pharmacy. For over 25 years, he was a member of the Morrill Volunteer Fire Dept. Charlie had an inquisitive mind and was deeply interested in understanding the world around him. Charlie enjoyed carpentry, spending time outside with his dogs, and was a strong supporter of high school sports. He served as a national level track official. Survivors include his wife of 35 years Joan Mills of Morrill, 3 children: Trevor and his wife Katie Mills of Rockland, Maggie Mills of CA, and Mason Mills of MA, a brother Douglas Mills of Sidney, a granddaughter Amelia also of Rockland, a niece Grace Collins and a nephew John Collins. Friends may call at the Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home 182 Waldo Ave. on Wed. 2/23/11 from 6-8 pm where services will be at 7:30 with Rev. Kate Winters officiating.
