Obituary of Hubert J. Brooks
Hubert J. Brooks, 53, died peacefully March 5, 2011, at a local hospital after a short battle with cancer. He was born Aug. 18, 1957, in Bangor, the son of Mildred (Marshall) and Ernest Brooks. Hubert was a lifelong resident of Dover-Foxcroft and attended Foxcroft Academy before working at Guilford of Maine Textiles for 34 years. His passion in life was working with his many friends. He also enjoyed spending his days watching country music television with his brother. "Jaime," as his mother called him, loved weekend yard sales looking for great deals on antiques. He and his mother also spent hours together looking through old family photos. He is survived by his two sons, Jacob of Harrisburg, Pa., and Zachary of Greenwich, Conn.; mother, Mildred (Marshall) Brooks of Dover-Foxcroft; and siblings, Ernest of Dover-Foxcroft, Robin and her husband, Larry Leavitt, of Lisbon Falls and Paula and her husband, Tory Ferris, of Woodland. He leaves behind several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Vanessa and Rosie; brother, John Brooks, all of Dover-Foxcroft; as well as his second wife, Lorrie (Bell) of Sangerville. At his request, graveside services will be held in the spring at a Dover-Foxcroft cemetery.
