In Loving Memory Gilbert "Gil" Drouin 7/4/1938 - 3/30/2011 GILBERT “GIL” DROUIN, 72 of OAKLAND, passed away March 30, 2011 at Maine Medical Center in Portland. He was born in Waterville on July 4, 1938, the son of Florian and Blanche Drouin of Canada. Gil served in the Army Air Born. He had a great passion for cars and has won many trophies and awards throughout his life for both vehicle restoration and the custom creation of automobiles and dune buggies. His passion for cars and body work carried over into his lifetime career as an auto body repair man. He owned Mid Maine Motor’s in Oakland ME for many years. Gil is survived by a son, Gilbert Drouin of Oakland Maine; two daughters, Laura Lee Drouin-Bertram of East Otis, Massachusetts and Christine Drouin of Huntington, Massachusetts; one brother John Drouin of Oakland and his wife Bonnie. His life partner, Cindy Lawry of Oakland, and his first wife, Laura Drouin of Feeding Hills, MA. He will be lovingly remembered by granddaughters Jessica Drouin, Raechyl Drouin, Jolene Bertram and his grandsons Richard Bertram, Corey Drouin, Justin Nazario and great grandson Franco Liquori. And nephew Byron Drouin. The family invites you to celebrate Gil’s life on Wednesday, April 6th from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the American Legion, 22 Church Street, Oakland, ME.
