Obituary of Joseph Henry Boivin
JOSEPH 'HENRY' BOIVIN, 89 of Morrill. On April 5th 2011 at the Veteran’s Hospital in Togus, Henry started a new journey leaving this earthly life to join his loved ones who are waiting to welcome him home. He was born in China, Maine on February 25, 1922, the ninth child of William and Roseanne (Nadeau) Boivin. He served his country in the U.S. Army 45th Division during World War II. Quoting Henry himself, he was “jack-of-all-trades and master of none”. His life work was primarily farming, construction, caretaking and school bus driver. He was very firm about making sure the lawn was mowed in a straight line. After his retirement, he helped his wife with the mail contract for the USPS which they did together for twelve years. He was the last surviving member of the original volunteer fire department of Liberty. He was a member and Past Master of King David’s Lodge #62 of Lincolnville and an affiliated member of Liberty Lodge #111 of Liberty. He was a member and Past Patron of Beach Chapter O.E.S. #23 in Lincolnville and of Arbutus Chapter O.E.S. #19 in Liberty of which he was a life member. Henry was predeceased by his parents, his first wife of 19 years Bessie Cram Boivin with whom he had six of his children; his brothers Robert, Arnold, Ubald, Rayno, Roger, Louis, William, Paul and Arthur; and his sisters Yvette and Lucille. Henry is survived by his wife Carolyn of 45 years, his sons David and wife Andrea of Bangor, Steven and wife Riki of Stanton, CT, Terry of Upper Black Eddy, PA and step-son Robert Payne of Lincolnville; his daughter Mary Ann Boody of Monhegan Island, Jennifer and her husband Jim Newman of Placerville, CA, Louise and husband Lanny Hendrickson of Castle Rock, CO, Pamela and her companion Dominic of Ontario, CA; stepdaughters Laura Nelson of Camden and Shari and her husband Jim Massero of Beverly, MA; sisters Mary Jane Bredeau of Las Vegas, NV and Rita Boivin of Waterville; 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Memorial services with military honors will be held Saturday April 9th, 1 p.m. at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast.
