Jerry Wayne Closson, Sr., 71, of Boothbay Harbor died Saturday, April 9, 2011 at the Hospice/Palliative Care Unit Togus VA Medical Center, Augusta, Maine. He was born June 30, 1939 in Otter Creek on Mount Desert Island to Lewis E. and Phyllis (Whitmore) Closson. He graduated from Pemetic High School in Southwest Harbor in 1957. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Donna L. (Davis) Closson; his three sons: Wayne Closson and his wife Mary of Boothbay Harbor, Todd Closson of Portland, Kyle Closson of Southport and his daughter Amy Shaw and her husband Robbie of Southport. His five grandchildren: Lewis Closson of Ohio, Michael Closson of South Portland, Megan Closson of Salem, MA, and JoAnna and Robert Shaw of Southport. A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, April 17th at 1PM at the Congregational Church of Boothbay Harbor with the Rev. Sarah Foulger officiating.
