BARTHOLOMEW “BART” GHENT, 87, passed away at his residence in Knox on April 11, 2011. He was born December 16, 1923 in Portland, Connecticut, the son of William and Gertrude (Ventress) Ghent. He was a decorated U.S. Army World War II veteran and was a member of the VFW, American Legion and the Union Harvest Grange #97. Bart ran the food pantry for Knox for 19 years. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Maud Ghent of Knox; three children, Bradley Ghent and his wife Roberta of Searsport, Theresa Pease and her husband Vaughn of Appleton and Frank Ghent and his wife Ann of Pennsylvania; his brother William and his wife Dorothy of Connecticut; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements under the care of Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast.
