Obituary of Margaret P. Harvey

MARGARET P. (HANSON) HARVEY, 80, passed away May 22, 2011 at her residence in Swanville. She was born in Freedom, Maine August 22, 1930, the daughter of Robert and Gertrude (York) Hanson. In her younger years, Margaret worked at Stinson’s Canning and Penobscot Poultry. Her hobbies included collecting knick-knacks especially magnets, decorating her home and shopping. She especially enjoyed family gatherings. She is predeceased by her parents; her husband, Glen Harvey and several siblings. Margaret is survived by her children, Mike Harvey and Donna Flagg of Morrill; Charlotte Bishop and Larry Kelly of Swanville, Steve Harvey and wife Marlene of Swanville; her siblings Christine Grant of Brooks and her twin Dot Giles of Lewiston; grandchildren, Glen Harvey, Daniel Harvey, Brenda Bryant and husband Eric, Tammy Roberts and husband Jeff, Amanda Harvey and Eric Hall, Megan Harvey and Kevin, Mary Lynn and Dayanna Chevalier; six great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, May 26th at 10 a.m. at Grove Cemetery, Belfast. Those who wish may make memorial contributions in her memory to Bangor Humane Society, 693 Mount Hope Ave # B, Bangor, ME 04401-5606. Arrangements are under the care of Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast. On-line condolences may be offered to the family at www.ripostafh.com.
