Obituary of Edna F. Kenney

EDNA F. (RILEY) KENNEY, 88 of Swanville, passed away June 9, 2011 at a Belfast hospital. She was born May 22, 1923 in Monroe, Maine, the daughter of Frank and Mildred (Evans) Riley. Edna worked at the local hospital for many years and enjoyed reading and crocheting until her macular degeneration made it impossible. She then enjoyed her books on tape. She devoted her life to her family and will be missed by all. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Thomas L. Kenney Sr.; her sons Thomas L. Kenney Jr and John A. Kenney; siblings Bernice DeMass, Doris Patterson, Adah Dyer, Clyde, Walter, Fred and Howard Riley. She is survived by her seven children, Joyce Page and husband Martin of Swanville, Patricia Jackson and Bernard of Liberty, Linda Clifford and husband John of Dumfries, Virginia, Nancy Harris and husband Keith of Waterboro, Barbara Kenney of Brewer, Deborah Ellis and husband Bruce of Bangor, Jeffrey Kenney and wife Cara of Bangor; two daughters-in-law, Debbie Kenney and Rebecca Kenney of Belfast; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Eunice Palmer of Belfast and one brother Lewis Riley of Liberty; sisters-in-law June Riley of Swanville, Roberta Riley of Belfast and Marge Riley of Falmouth, Massachusetts. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 16th at Smart Cemetery with Rev. Steven Daniels officiating.
