Obituary of Arthur C. Flanders

ARTHUR C. FLANDERS, JR., 53, passed away June 16, 2011 at Wiscasset. He was born in Belfast November 20, 1957 to Arthur C. and Glenice (Flanders) Flanders Sr. Arthur attended Northport schools and received his GED in 1983. He was a laborer working as a logger, sternman and trucker. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping. His favorite thing to do was to just lay in his sleeping bag under the stars. He was predeceased by his father, Arthur C. Flanders Sr.; his step-father, Elden Lenfest, sister-in-law Kathy Flanders. Arthur is survived by his long-time companion, Betty Applin of Wiscasset; his mother, Glenice (Flanders) Lenfest; his “other mother”, Ruth Applin; children Shayne Kenney of Indiana, Arthur C. Flanders III of Auburn, Zacheriah Flanders of Bangor; siblings, Gordon Flanders and wife Alice of Lewiston, Ralph Flanders of Northport, Bill Flanders and wife Pam of Northport, Caro Furbush and husband Ed of Northport; two grandchildren, Sylvan Kenney and Lillith Kenney; many nieces and nephews as well as aunt Barbara and husband Forrest Brown and very special uncle, Kermit Flanders. A Celebration of life will be held from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, June 25th at the Caro and Ed Furbush Home, 42 Flanders Rd., Northport. Arrangements under the care of Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, Belfast.
