Obituary of Evelyn K. Bryant

EVELYN K. BRYANT, 86, died June 18, 2011 at a local nursing home. She was born July 16, 1924 in Brownfield, Maine, the daughter of Jesse O. and Nellie (Hood) Keniston. Evelyn loved her Lord and loved to share Him with others. She also enjoyed her volunteer work with Waldo County Hospice. She was a member of Lighthouse Bible Church in Searsport. She enjoyed poetry and wrote many poems herself. She was very proud of going back to school in her 50s to study nutrition and cooking. She loved to cook and enjoyed a good game of Scrabble. She was predeceased by her husband, Conrad Bryant in 1986, and a daughter Connie in 1998. She is survived by her children, Leslie Bryant and Alicia of Carmel, Conrad Bryant and Marie, also of Carmel, her daughter Gloria Howard and husband Kevin of Frankfort, Susan Bryant of Gorham; her brothers and sisters, Gladys Wood of Belfast, Caroline Moulton of Belfast, Rose Tibbetts of Belfast, Ivan Keniston of Searsport, Fred Keniston and wife Betty of Belfast, David Keniston and Joyce Tibbetts of Belfast; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; special friend Paul Nickerson. Family and friends are invited to call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 21st at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Lighthouse Bible Church Prospect Street, Searsport. Interment will follow at Smart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Volunteers of Waldo County, PO Box 772, Belfast, ME 04915. On-line condolences may be offered to the family at www.ripostafh.com.
