Obituary of Danny A. Dodge

DANNY A. DODGE, 23, died unexpectedly July 27, 2011 in Bangor. He was born in Bangor on April 27, 1988. Danny grew up in the Belfast area and in his earlier years could always be seen in his cowboy hat and boots. Danny was a 2006 graduate of Belfast Area High School and attended vocational school to learn carpentry. After graduation, he went to work at Hannaford full-time for almost five years where he developed many close friends. He followed one of his dreams by attending Northeast Technical Institute where he graduated with a CDL license. He went on to further his education in trucking in Pennsylvania with Werner Enterprises where he completed his over-the-road training. After completing that, he worked for ABC Professional Trees here in Maine before settling most recently with Bowdoin Excavation so he could be closer to home. Danny enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, snowmobiling, motorcycles, shooting and trucking. He also enjoyed spending time with friends by the campfire or over a barbecue and will be remembered for the twinkle in his eye and his smile. He was predeceased by his grandparents. Survivors include his mother, Connie Dodge, sisters Shelley Dodge, Amanda Hall and her husband Scott all of Belfast; his special parents, Reggie and Joyce Kenyon of Jackson; and other extended family Brian, Chris, Shannon, Sienna, Brian II Thompson; his godmother Rose Hubbard of Belfast; uncle Robert Dodge of Jackson, aunt Beth Hopkins and husband Barry of Belfast; his co-workers at Hannaford; his crew from Bowdoin Excavation and many, many friends too numerous to mention as well as his special dog, Jassmen. A celebration of Danny’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, August 1st at Belfast Area High School. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to a scholarship fund being set up in his memory for a graduate of Belfast Area High School who wants to further their education at Northeast Technical Institute. Donations may be sent c/o Tricia Bowdoin, 24 Conifer Lane, North Yarmouth, ME 04097. Arrangements are under the care of Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast.
