Obituary of Kenneth David Gilmore

Kenneth David Gilmore, 70, passed away on August 10, 2011, at his home in Belfast. Kenneth was born in Monroe, Maine on May 10, 1941 to the late Erna Gilmore (Plummer) & Everette Gilmore, Sr. He worked at Truitt Brothers shoe factory in Belfast, and also spent almost 12 years working in the woods with his family. Kenneth was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed forecasting the weather. He enjoyed rides in the country with his son Shawn. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years Janice (Ellis) Gilmore, their son, Shawn Ellis of Belfast; his siblings, Maxine Seekins of North Searsport, Sharon Lamb and significant other Bud of Searsport, Ruth Hamm and husband Lloyd of Searsport; Paul Gilmore and wife Katherine of Belfast, Leonard Gilmore and wife Judy of Belfast and Ada Gordon of Searsport; sister-in-law Flo Gilmore of Searsport; grandchildren Eric Shawn and Philip Kenneth Ellis; several nieces, nephews and cousins; close family friend Stephanie Kraft of Belfast; many many friends and special cat Hannah. Visiting hours will be held from 5-7 pm. Tuesday, August 16th at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. Interment will be held at Smart Cemetery immediately following.
