Obituary of Elizabeth Vivian James

ELIZABETH VIVIAN JAMES, 79, passed away peacefully on September 13th at Penobscot Nursing Home in Penobscot after a brief illness. She was born in Camden, Maine March 18, 1932 to Albert and Bertha (Whitney) Hall. Elizabeth grew up and attended school in Lincolnville. At various times in her life, she lived in Northport, Belfast and Swanville. Elizabeth worked for 22 years at Penobscot Frozen Foods until her vision failed. Until two years before her death, she maintained a fairly large vegetable garden. She put by and canned her harvests and enjoyed the entire process. She also enjoyed her flower beds. Until her vision failed, she enjoyed knitting and crocheting, but cooking large family meals was one of her favorite activities. She also loved to shop. She was predeceased by her parents, six siblings and husband of 19 years, William J. James. Elizabeth is survived by her children, Brenda Bonin of Northport, Bruce Bonin and his wife Jeanna of Swanville, Delores Bonin of Swanville and Steve Bonin and his life partner Frank Hart of Searsport. She is also survived by five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, one sister-in-law, Jeanie Hall of Lincolnville, many nieces and nephews. At her request, a graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, September 16th at Grove Cemetery in Belfast. Arrangements are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast.
