Obituary of Arlen I. Jackson
ARLEN I. JACKSON, 77, passed away at his residence in Liberty on October 21, 2011. He was born in Belfast on August 24, 1934 to Irvin and Avis (Ellis) Jackson. He was a U.S. Navy veteran who worked as a mechanic. He owned and operated various automotive businesses throughout New England including A&J Motors in Manchester, Maine which he owned and operated for 25 years. He enjoyed buying and selling Corvettes, boating and traveling in his R.V. Arlen was a Mason since 1965. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is predeceased by both parents, his son Kenneth Jackson, a sister Juanita Vinings, and son-in-law Norman Goble. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Beverly (Gould) Jackson of Liberty; his children, Mallorie Goble of New York, Gregory Jackson and wife Lisa of Poland, Maine, Dennis Jackson of Readfield, ME, Jeffery Jackson and wife Sandra of Manchester, Maine, Teresa Latta and husband Anthony Sr. of North Carolina; his brother Jerome Jackson and wife Diane of Massachusetts; grandchildren, Jason, Chad, Samantha, Jessica, Jennifer, Kevin, Eric, Ashley, Carrie, Adam, Anthony Jr., and Lindsay; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to call from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, October 25th at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast where memorial services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Storm Gould officiating.
