Obituary of David A. Dawson
DAVID A. DAWSON, 68, passed away November 4, 2011 at his residence in Prospect. He was born July 4, 1943 in Boston, Massachusetts the son of Aubrey and Lauretta (Christiansen) Dawson. A 1961 graduate of Crosby High School, David served his country in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam where he was a combat photographer and Sentry dog handler. Upon returning home, David graduated from the Criminal Justice Academy and worked in law enforcement for the Bangor Police Department as well as Camden and Belfast Police Departments. In later years, he worked as a security officer for local businesses. He loved photography, gardening, reading and history. He was predeceased by five brothers and sisters, George, William Sr., Richard, Charles and Ruth Klaft; his mother-in-law Evelyn O’Brien and brother-in-law Lenny Harvey. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Catherine of Prospect; his children David Dawson of Washington, Michelle Dawson of Bangor, Francine Fuller of Winthrop, Jason Fuller and wife Patricia of Searsmont; his sisters Lauretta Bondio of Louisiana, Pauline Collins of Hawaii; sister-in-law Doloris Dawson of Nevada; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
