Obituary of Howard M. Drake

WATERVILLE -- Howard M. Drake, 85, of Burnham, passed away Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at Lakewood Continuing Care Center in Waterville, following a short illness. He was born Dec. 20, 1925, in Freedom, the son of Howard F. and Alice (Bradstreet) Drake.He attended Freedom Academy and served in the Navy from 1943 to 1946. In 1958 he married Marjorie Finnemore of Unity. Howard enjoyed working in the construction industry for many years, retiring from Cianbro in his late 50s. He was predeceased by his wife. He is survived by his daughter, Denise Holt and husband Kevin of Burnham; son Farley Drake of Unity; grandchildren Ashley Morency and husband Craig of Independence, Mo., Brittanie Smith and husband Dameko of Burnham, and Ryan Drake of Troy; two great-grandchildren, Demarcus Smith and Maddilyn Morency; brother Fred Drake and wife Mildred of Augusta; special sister-in-law Anna Gerald and companion Richard Beal of Fairfield Center; sisters-in-law Barbara Finnemore and Joanne Higgins; several nieces and nephews; and special friends Joyce and Burley Holt and Paul Bertrand.
