Obituary of Lucien Pete McDuff
LUCIEN “PETE” McDUFF, 83, passed away December 4, 2011 in Belfast. He was born in Brunswick on July 22, 1928 to Lucien P. and Celena McDuff. He was a U.S. Army veteran who worked as an aircraft engineer for General Electric until his retirement. He travelled all over the world enjoying travel in his camper with his wife before she passed and more recently with his companion, Joyce Sutherland. Pete had a passion for sailing and built his own sailboat which he sailed in Manchester by the Sea. He liked to listen to music, was an avid reader and enjoyed woodworking.
He was predeceased by his parents; his wife Dorothy and son Peter McDuff. Survivors include his significant other, Joyce Sutherland of Belfast; his children Mark McDuff, Thomas McDuff, Miriam Baker and husband Robert, all of Massachusetts; Joyce’s children, William Sutherland of Belfast, Alan Sutherland and girlfriend Jessica Welch of Winslow; brothers, James McDuff and John McDuff of Massachusetts; grandchildren, Michael, Celena, Leandra, Anya, and Joyce’s granddaughter Monique; several nieces, nephews, cousins and his Shepherd/Akita dog, Princess.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 15th at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast with Pastor Storm Gould officiating. On-line condolences may be offered to the family at www.ripostafh.com.
