Obituary of Stephen Joseph Kibbin
CHINA -- Stephen Joseph Kibbin passed away Jan. 9, 2012, at Gray Birch Skilled Rehabilitation and Nursing Care in Augusta, where he received excellent care.He was born, Jan. 17, 1953, in Waterville, son of the late Margaret A.Haney and Bronick L. Kibbin Sr.He attended China Elementary School and Erskine Academy.
He was employed, in the past, by the state of Maine, Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, Asplundh Tree Service and was self-employed in the areas of carpentry and woodcutting.He enjoyed the outdoors, organic gardening, hunting and fishing, as well as long walks with his dog, Pugzy.
He is survived by three children, Joseph Kibbin and wife Angie of Colorado Springs, Colo., Jack Kibbin and wife Misty of China, and Clinton Kibbin-Greenleaf and significant other Christina McClure of Westport; sisters Bonnie Newcombe and husband Mark of Augusta, Jeannie Kibbin of Augusta, Evangeline Richard of Augusta, and Peggy Newcombe and husband Richard of Whitefield; brothers Michael Kibbin of South China, and Bronick Kibbin Jr. and significant other Debbie Weston of South China; grandchildren Jace and Jore of Colorado, Jaylynn and Jacquelynn of China, and Kaylee and Katie of Westport; special niece Hannah Kibbin of Augusta, whom as a infant he nick-named Beetle; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Stevie's life will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14, at his son, Jack's home on 784 Neck Road in China.
