Obituary of Justin E. Hinds

Justin(Rocky) E. Hinds, 85, died Feb 2, 2012, after a long illness. Rocky was born Oct. 5, 1926 in Winthrop, Me. He was the son of the late Robert and Erma Hinds. After completing High School, Rocky went to the University of Maine in Orono, but didn't get to graduate because he was called up for duty. He served time in the Army and in the Air National Guard. After this Rocky worked for the telephone company for 35 years. After retiring he and his late wife Rose Hinds, moved to Cape Jellison, in Stockton Springs. He would then spend time between there and Florida. Rocky enjoyed being on the water sailing. He also enjoyed gardening, and cooking. He was involved in many local committees over the years which he found very interesting. He was a member of the Searsport yacht club, and a lifetime member of the Stockton Springs Historical Society. He was also a member of the Stockton Springs Community Church. Rocky also loved his pet toy poodles. His last one Beau, giving him a lot of joy Rocky leaves behind his wife Carlene Hinds. A brother Gerry Hinds, Sister Janice and her husband Herbert Baker. Four children Katherine Burger and her husband Jim, Thomas Hinds, Robert Hinds, and Elizabeth Hinds. Grandchildren Emily, Zachary and Ty. Stepchildren Joseph Terra, Karee Murphy, John Sanborn Jr., and Aimee Grindel. Many step grandchildren and great grandchildren. Cousins, special friends over the years, and his caring caregivers Iris and Michael Wood. A private graveside service for family and close friends will be in the spring.
