Obituary of Roberta A. Woodbury
Roberta A. (Achorn) Woodbury, 80 of Morrill, passed away peacefully on February 15th, 2012 surrounded by family in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. She was born in August of 1931 the daughter of Dana and Hazel (Wood) Achorn. Her childhood was spent in Morrill, and Roberta graduated from Crosby High School in Belfast in 1949. Later that year she married Lloyd ‘Doc’ Waldo Woodbury. Together they owned and operated Woodbury’s Country Store in Belmont, and she later spent many years working at Lake St. George State Park. Roberta and Lloyd are survived by their two beloved children, Wayne Woodbury of Belmont and Linda Bryant of Johnstown, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by her sister Thelma Rolerson, her son Wayne’s wife Rosie, their daughter Angela and her children and grandchildren, her daughter Linda’s husband Ronald, their children, Jennifer Bryant and her son Caleb, Kristy Trice and her husband Gary and their son Micah, Craig Bryant and his wife Nikki and their sons Zechariah and Gabriel. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband Lloyd, her brother Leroy Achorn and her twin sister Alberta Blood. Roberta spent much of her life caring for her beloved family, and she cherished the time she had to spend with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, always sending them home with a treasure by which to remember her. She was an avid card player, puzzler, bird watcher, and she always had a sharp wit. She will be missed. Special thanks to Tall Pines Residential Care in Belfast for their many years of caring and kindness, and to Senior LIFE in Johnstown for their compassionate end-of-life-care. Family and friends are invited to a memorial service on Saturday, February 25th at 10 a.m. at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast. Interment will be held for Roberta in the summer at Morrill Village Cemetery in Morrill.
