Obituary of Albert T. Poliquin
ALBERT T. POLIQUIN, 87 of Monroe went home to be with the Lord on February 25, 2012. He was born on December 20, 1924 in Epping, New Hampshire the son of Alfred T. and Georgianna (Lonois) Poliquin. Al worked in the shoe manufacturing industry for many years in the New Hampshire area and then was a foreman at Waldo Shoe Factory in Belfast. At one point he had his own cobbler shop in New Hampshire as well as Searsport. He also worked as a caretaker for over 20 years in the Searsport area. Al loved gardening, trapping, hunting, fishing, ansimals, working in his wood shop and was known as a jack of all trades. Al enjoyed the UMaine hockey team as well as participating in high school sports in his younger years and watching sports in his later years. One of his favorite pastimes was Camping with his New Hampshire family and many others across the country. Al was also a member of Maine Trappers Association. He is predeceased by his parents; several brothers and sisters; a son, Ronnie Poliquin and his beloved dog Bruno. Al is survived by his son, Albert "Rusty" T. Poliquin Jr. and wife Yvonne of Epping New Hampshire; and his adopted daughters, Victoria Poliquin and partner Mary Monahan of Ventura, California, Cynthia Moody and husband Raymond of Monroe and their mother Beverly Poliquin of Augusta; his siblings, Alma Sobozenski of Berwick, Alice Mailhot and husband Arthur of Epping, NH, James Poliquin and wife Connie of Raymond, New Hampshire and sisters-in-law Rita and Zelda Poliquin of New Hampshire; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Tom, Sally and Ollie Savage of Searsport. The family would like to thank Waldo County Home Health & Hospice for their care. Memorial services will be held on April 27, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Lighthouse Bible Church, Prospect Street, Searsport. Interment will be held at Grove Cemetery at a later date.
