Obituary of William Bill Harvey
WILLIAM ALTON “BILL” HARVEY, 69, passed away unexpectedly at his residence in Belfast on March 31, 2012. He was born in Belfast January 30, 1943 to Kenneth and Margaret (Gray) Harvey. William Harvey was proud to be one of Jehovah's witnesses and shared a strong faith in God and all the promises he gave for the future. He shared this hope with his wife and two daughters. Helping others was his number one priority and something he did whenever he could. He was very passionate about anything involved with mechanics and with his small engine repair certificate - he worked on anything and everything. He was always busy doing something. Among the things that he enjoyed doing cooking was a huge favorite. He cooked for friends and family and loved watching them enjoy what he had made. His specialties were fish chowder, the most perfect poached eggs and of course the best biscuits you've ever had. He had a huge smile, a nose that every little baby loved and a laugh that came from the bottom of his belly...that laugh will be forever missed. Susan Harvey, his wife, was his best friend, his snuggle buddy and his teacher. She taught him how to be a better man through the values she learned from their God Jehovah that turned him from the rough exterior most people knew to the man in the suit, going door to door teaching others about God's Kingdom. He loved his girls. His daughters Kimberly Preble age 24 and Shanna Harvey age 25 meant the world to him. He loved them both so very much and showed them in his own little ways every time he could.
Bill was predeceased by several brothers and sisters and is survived by his wife of 24 years, Susan Harvey of Belfast; his daughters Shanna Harvey of Waterville and Kimberly Preble of Bucksport. He also leaves his daughter Laurie Harvey of Searsport, sons Bill Harvey of Florida and Adelbert Harvey of Kittery who he talked about frequently and was also proud of; his sisters, Eva Doolan of Belfast, Eleanor Durnham of New Hampshire, Beatrice Hodgdon of North Searsport, Diana Seekins of Frankfort, Donna Perry of Madison, Susanna Grindle of Stockton Springs; several grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
