Obituary of Derwood R. McIntire

DERWOOD R. McINTIRE, 75, passed away at his residence in Northport on April 11, 2012. He was born in Prospect on January 28, 1937 to Carleton and Martha (Cummings) McIntire. He was a U.S. Army veteran who drove truck for several local businesses. Derwood enjoyed the out of doors and hunting. He didn’t like to sit around so kept busy mowing the lawn and splitting wood. He was predeceased by his parents and a son, Derwood McIntire Jr. in 2000. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Lois (Bowen) McIntire of Northport; his children, Carleton McIntire and his wife Cindy of Swanville, Mary Baez and husband Edison of Northport; three grandchildren, Michelle McIntire, Samantha Kimble and her husband Dustin, William Penney. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Those who wish may make memorial contributions in Derwood’s memory to Oncology Department, Waldo County General Hospital, PO Box 287, Belfast, ME 04915.
