Obituary of Alfred J. Levesque

ALFRED J. LEVESQUE, 84 of Farmington, passed away with his family around him on April 24, 2012 after a long illness. He was born in Augusta on March 8, 1928, the son of Joseph and Mathilda (Lagasse) Levesque. Mr. Levesque was employed at the Edward Mill in Augusta for at least 20 years, then at Togus VA in housekeeping until retiring in 1990. Fred was a lifetime member of Calumet Club where he worked as a bartender, janitor and in the kitchen. He was predeceased by his mother and father, two brothers Gerard and Leo; and a sister Jeanne. Alfred is survived by three children, Yvonne (Levesque) Rood and Yvette Levesque; his son Sylvio J. Levesque and his daughter-in-law Linda who was like a father to her. He had three grandchildren, Joann Nelson and her husband Donnie, Lance K. Rood of Portland Oregon and Nathan Levesque; great-grandchildren Jacob Nelson and Ashley Nelson; friend and confidante, Jeannine E. Levesque. Alfred has one sister Annette Dostie and her husband Raymond; one brother Rev. Sylvio J. Levesque; several nieces and nephews. Per his request there will be no viewing. A memorial mass will be held on May 5, 2012 at 9am at St. Augustine Church in Augusta, Maine. Interment will immediately follow at Holy Family Cemetery. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. We would like to thank Sandy River for the wonderful care that was given to our Dad by the staff and nurses and a special thanks to Trudy, Heather, Ashley, Barbara for everything that they have done.
