Obituary of William I. Kent

SURRY - William I. Kent, Jr. passed away Friday, May 4 at his home surrounded by family and friends. Bill was born on November 10, 1944 in Washington D.C. to William I. and Jane Rust Kent. Bill grew up in Penn Valley, PA and graduated from Episcopal Academy. He attended the University of Tampa and received a B.A. and Masters in Fine Arts from George Washington University. Teaching art at Georgetown Prep, he was a positive influence on a number of students. After moving to Maine in 1994, Bill used his creative skills as a wood worker of fine furniture. Bill fulfilled a lifelong dream of building a home on the Union River in Surry, ME where he resided until his death. He is survived by 2 brothers, sister and 7 nieces and nephews. At his request, the service and burial will be for family only. Those who wish may make donations in Bill's memory to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Hancock County, ME
