Obituary of Arlene Momma Pendleton
ARLENE “MOMMA” PENDLETON, 88 ½ years old, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 25, 2012. She was born in Providence, Rhode Island on 12/26/1923, the first-born of Robert and Christine Wacker. Arlene has always been a hard worker starting at 16 years old working for lawyers. She also worked for several others including Seaney’s Hardware, WTZL Radio Station, Cates Associates and China Lake Conference Center. At 68 years old she began her last position which she held for 18 years working for Dr. Stephen Anderson. Anywhere she went people knew her as ‘Momma’.
She was predeceased by her first husband and father of her two children, William J. Lutz; and her second husband Rev. Lewis C. Pendleton. She is survived by her son Robert A. Lutz and his wife Diane of Winslow, her daughter Donna A. Gorton and her husband Pastor David H. Gorton of Windsor; her three granddaughters, Rebekah R. Lutz of MA, Melissa M. Abbott and husband Kenny of CA, Abigail A. Lutz of Winslow; her sister, Irma Verdolotti.
The family would like to invite you to a time of reflection to be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Center Vassalboro Baptist Church, 1 Crowell Hill Road in Vassalboro where a celebration of Arlene’s life will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, June 9th with Pastor David Gorton officiating. Burial will follow at 4 p.m. at Mountain View Cemetery in Camden.
