Nancy Ethel McCafferty, 76 of Searsmont passed away quietly on June 14, 2012. Nancy was born on January 16, 1936 to Joyce and Roland Abbott of Montville. She graduated from Freedom Academy in 1953. Nancy had many talents and hobbies, she loved crafting, gardening and shopping. She loved taking trips with her sister and cousins. She is best known for her years running the Apple Squeeze with husband Lee. Nancy has spent the past few years residing at Woodlands assisted living in Rockland where she received excellent care from a very devoted staff. She was predeceased by her by her husband of 47 years, Thomas LeRoy McCaffery, her son Joseph Michael, both parents Joyce Prentice and stepfather Harold and Roland Abbott, a brother Clark Abbott, a great grandson Haydon Greco as well as several Aunts and Uncles and Grandparents. Nancy is survived by her sons; Mark McCafferty and wife RoAnn of Belmont, John McCafferty of Searsmont; her daughters Lisa Woods and husband Tim of Knox, and Lorri McCafferty of Searsmont; a sister Patricia Miller and husband Loren of Bingham; a sister-in-law Jane Nadeau and husband Bob of Rumford and Alice McCafferty of Buckfield; grandchildren Maranda of Searsmont, John II of Searsmont, Justin of South Paris, Michael of Searsmont, Zachary of Alaska, and Codey of Montville; a great granddaughter Lelia of Searsmont and Great grandson Isiah of Alaska and many neices and nephews and cousins. Nancy also leaves behind many friends in the community. A 3:00 PM memorial service for Nancy will be held this Saturday, June 23, 2012 at the Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast, ME. Memorials for Nancy may be made to your local chapter of the American Cancer Society or the Alhziemer's Association.
