Obituary of Floyd Earl Sparrow
FLOYD EARL SPARROW, 85 of Swanville, passed away on July 1, 2012 with his loving family by his side at Harbor Hill in Belfast. Floyd was born on September 16, 1926 in Hampden, Maine. Floyd will be most remembered for his outstanding green thumb. He loved his garden and enjoyed sharing the harvest with friends and family. He was a foreman at Waldo Shoe in Belfast and Evans-Hampden Shoe in Hampden for many years. He retired from Viking Lumber in Belfast after many years of service.
He was predeceased by his parents, Henry Sparrow and Addie (Palmer) Sparrow and by two sons, Baby Floyd Russell Sparrow and Clifton “Kippy” Watson; two sisters Alta Brassbridge and Hazel Brassbridge; two brothers, Edwin Sparrow and Lewis Sparrow. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jean (Sholes) Sparrow; three daughters Henrietta “Retta” Kelley and husband Richard of Hampden, Clydella Anderson and husband Conrad of Winterport, Lisa Brassbridge of Palermo and daughter-in-law Betty Watson of Surry. He is lovingly remembered by 13 grandchildren Laurie Ward, Rick Landry, Wendy Peaslee, Scott Watson, Aimee Kane, Carl Anderson, Dale Anderson, Lynn Anderson, Christopher Kelley, Richard Kelley Jr., Dawn Kelley-Knapp, Amanda Brassbridge and Ashle Brassbridge, as well as many great and great-great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 7th at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast.
