Obituary of Gladys M. Harding
GLADYS M. (DUNTON) HARDING, 92 of Belfast, passed away on September 7, 2012. She was born on February 22, 1920 in Belfast, Maine, the daughter of Frank and Florence Dunton. Gladys worked in the shoe factory and at Penobscot Poultry for many years. She also owned and operated a dairy farm in Albion with her husband, Conrad Harding. Gladys enjoyed attending Morrill Baptist church for many years, planting and growing her garden and most of all loved spending time with her family.
She is predeceased by her parents; her husbands, Stanley Curtis, Chester Richards and Conrad Harding; one son, Larry Curtis; several siblings. She is survived by her loving children, Judith Witt and husband Grady of Morrill, Roland Curtis and wife Julie of Florida, Wesley Richards and wife Patricia of Woodland, Virginia Moody of Florida, Wayne Richards and wife Debbie of Belmont and Donald Richards and wife Patsy of Searsport; sister Alfreda Pottle of Gardiner; 21 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 12th at Greenlawn Cemetery, Swanville with Pastor Jim Culbertson officiating. Those who wish may donations to Alzheimer’s Association, Maine Chapter, 383 US Route One, Suite 2C, Scarborough, ME 04074. Arrangements are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast.
