Obituary of Geneva L. Sylvester

GENEVA L. SYLVESTER, 77, passed away in Belfast on September 21, 2012. She was born in Ellsworth on November 10, 1934 to Howard Eugene Young and Julie Kathleen (Gray) Young. She was 1953 class president at George Stevens Academy in Blue Hill. She married Stephen Billings Sylvester on May 5, 1956. Geneva was an avid camper, a Cub Scout leader and member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a reading aide at Eastside School in Belfast for many years. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband; a brother, Neil Young and beloved son Eugene Sylvester. Survivors include her children, Andrew Sylvester and wife Susan of Livermore, Benjamin Sylvester and wife Gail of Alaska; daughters-in-law Ann Sylvester of Lewiston, Michelle Sylvester of Newport; sister, Joan Tyler and husband Gary of Northeast Harbor; grandchildren, Tricia, Janelle, Allyson, Audrey, Stephen, Sarah, Kayla; and special friends Pat and Floyd Clark. Family and friends are invited to call from 10-11 a.m. Thursday, September 27th at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast where funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at South Blue Hill Cemetery, Blue Hill.
