Obituary of Ada E. Lint
ADA E. LINT, 84, passed away at Sebasticook Valley Health Care Facility in Pittsfield on Sunday, October 7, 2012. Ada was born in Mapleton on June 17, 1928, the daughter of Charles Frederick Lint and Mildred Mae (Rand) Lint. She grew up in Mapleton where she was a member of a large family with lots of loving, helpful sisters and two brothers. She attended school for several years in Mapleton and then due to fragile health, she stayed at home to help her parents in their home. For many years, Ada was a close companion and helpmate to her mother. In the 80s Ada and her mother moved to Unity to live with her beloved sister, Doris Picard. Ada enjoyed being a part of this extended family. She looked forward to the holidays which meant lots of people, delicious food, stories to share and rocking the newest baby. Christmas was her favorite day for she would save her money all year so she could go Christmas shopping with Linda and then proudly present her gifts on Christmas Day to everyone.
Because of the frail health of her sister, Doris, Ada went to live with a very special caregiver, Julie Brown, at New Beginnings Boarding Home Inc. in Albion. She enjoyed several years of kind, skilled care with Julie and became friends with the other "girls" under the care of Julie. Ada spent the last year and a half at Sebasticook Valley Health Care Facility. She was a much loved client there where she received necessary medical and rehabilitation services.
Ada is predeceased by her father, Charles Frederick Lint and her mother, Mildred Mae (Rand) Lint; her sisters Helen, Amy, Norma, Shirley, Ruth and Doris and her brothers Merrill and Frederick. Ada is survived by her son, Merrill Lint of Caribou and sisters, Earlene Black, Joan McLellan and Mickey Philbrook of Presque Isle and many nieces and nephews.
The famly would like to thank the caregivers who provided such wonderful care to Ada in the past few years. A special thank you to Julie Brown and staff at Sebasticook Valley Health Care Facility.
Burial services for Ada will be private as she is laid to rest by her sister, Doris, at Pond Cemetery in Unity. On-line condolences may be offered at www.ripostafh.com.
