Obituary of Patrick J. Lynch
Patrick Joseph Lynch, 79, of South Thomaston, Maine, died on Monday, November 26, after a long battle with melanoma. He was born in the Bronx, New York, and grew up in Warrensburg, NY. Before moving to Maine, Patrick lived in Acton, MA, for 30 years.
He attended Massachusetts College of Art and worked as a commercial illustrator at Ginn Publishing, Digital Equipment Corporation and Raytheon. He served in the Army and Air Force Reserves.
In retirement Patrick coached high school football at Camden Hills Regional High School and at Rockland High School. He sold advertising for the local cable access television station and loved to travel, especially to Portugal.
He is survived by his daughter Erin Lynch of Melrose, MA, his beloved partner, Barbara Healy, of South Thomaston, ME, his sister, Elizabeth Lynch Kennedy of Warrensburg, NY, and a cousin and dear friend, Ruth Fruda, also of Warrensburg. He is also survived by five nieces and nephews and 5 grand nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Patrick’s life will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 1, at the Pemaquid Point Lighthouse, followed by a gathering of family and friends at the home of Barbara Healy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The Norris Cancer Center at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.
