Obituary of Oscar H Bryant

OSCAR H BRYANT, JR., 56, died December 30, 2012 at a Bangor hospital. He was born in Hope, Maine January 15, 1956, the son of Oscar and Winifred (Armstrong) Bryant Sr. He attended Belfast High School graduating in 1974. While still in school, he began working in the woods which he continued to do right up to his death. He had a generous heart, almost too generous at times. He taught his children how to work hard and how to play even harder. He especially loved dogs and leaves behind Chance. He was very proud of his children and their accomplishments and had many life-long friends including Alva Pollard, James Ames and James Sprague. He was predeceased by his mother and is survived by his father, Oscar Bryant Sr. of Searsmont; his son, Jeff Bryant and his wife Jessica Clark, his daughter Morgan and her husband Randy Clark of Phoenix; his grandchildren, Sullivan Bryant and Aden Pike. Services will be held at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast on Thursday, January 3rd from 6-8 p.m. There will be a celebration of Oscar’s life on Saturday, January 5th, 1 p.m. at Liberty Community Center, Route 220. Those who wish may make donations in Oscar’s memory to the Bryant Scholarship Fund for Oscar’s grandchildren. Checks can be mailed to Jeff Bryant, PO Box 201, Belfast, ME 04915.
