Obituary of Frederick J Brown
Frederick Joseph Brown of Caterpillar Hill in Sedgwick, died on January 2, 2013, at Penobscot Nursing Home in Penobscot. He was born in Sedgwick, on May 5, 1924, to Dwight and Velma (Hooper) Brown. Fred attended, and graduated from, Sedgwick schools. After graduation he served in the Merchant Marines from 1943 to 1945. Following his service he relocated to New Hampshire where he worked for Public Service of NH before starting his own construction business. In 1975 he returned to Sedgwick to make his home with his beloved wife, Serita (Bakeman). Fred was an avid snowmobiler, accomplished craftsman, and 50-year member of the Masons. He was predeceased by his brothers Arnold and Chester, his parents, and his loving wife Serita. Survivors include his sons Dennis Brown of Dumfries, Virginia, and Robert Brown of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; daughter Linda Wolotschaj of Vero Beach, Florida; his step-daughter Belinda O’Brien of Blue Hill, Maine; granddaughter Mary Katherine O’Brien of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and grandson Matthew Sinclair of Scarborough, Maine. In honor of Fred’s wishes, there will be no services.
