Obituary of Robert A. Brien

Robert A. Brien, 70, of Ellsworth, passed away in Ellsworth January 8, 2012 after a short illness. He was born June 10,1942 in Manchester, NH a son of the late Raymond and Alice (Hebert) Brien. Robert was a member of Ellsworth Elks Lodge # 2743 for 22 years where he was lodge secretary for 3 years. He served in the Navy and Marine Corp for 7 years as well as two terms in Vietnam. Robert also worked many years as a car salesman in Manchester NH and also in Ellsworth. He is survived by his wife Joyce Brien of Ellsworth, his daughter Meghann Brien of Ellsworth, his sister Shirley Brien from Manchester, NH, step children: Amy Merritt and her companion Mike Coulombe of Ellsworth, Steve Merritt and his wife Christina of Bar Harbor, Shannon Fletcher and her companion Adam Gaddis from Colombia Falls, 6 grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. Robert also will be missed by his extended family members his in-laws: Charles and Karen Mulhern from Ellsworth, Marilyn Sincyr and Wayne French of Ellsworth, Billy and Debbie Mulhern from Surry, and Dick and Millie Mulhern from Ellsworth as well as many great friends. He was predeceased by his son Barry Brien, and his daughter Cherylanne Newton. A Memorial Service will be held 1 pm January 27, 2013 at the Ellsworth Elks Lodge #2743.
