Obituary of Frederick H. Arsenault
Frederick H. Arsenault, 84, of Belfast passed away unexpectedly Saturday Jan. 19, 2013, at his residence. He was born April 29, 1928, in Portland, a son of Leo and Margaret (Morrison) Arsenault.
Fred served in the Navy and was a veteran of World War II, serving aboard the USS Ellison. He was a lifelong member of the American Legion and VFW. He was also a lifelong firefighter, serving for various departments. Fred was a lover of the sea; being raised in a family of fishermen, he had a passion for lobster fishing.
Fred is survived by his wife of 26 years, Roberta (Moulton) Arsenault, of Belfast; his children, Gary Arsenault and his wife, Judy, of Winterport; Eileen Arsenault of Belfast; Marie Alfano of Port Orange, Fla.; Margaret Arsenault Alden of Newport; David Moulton and his wife, Sandra, of Belfast; Linda Canning and her husband, Raymond, of Belfast; and Kathy LaRochelle of Belfast; a brother, Eugene Arsenault, of Hampden; He also will be missed by his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; Charles "Pop" Emery, who raised him after his father passed; and his two brothers, Martin and Leo Jr.; and his beloved sister-in-law, Roberta.
A graveside service will be held in the spring at Grove Cemetery.
