Obituary of Mildred Hustus Harrison
SEARSPORT
Mildred A. (Kingsbury) Hustus Harrison, 88 of Searsport, passed away on January 23, 2013 in Penobscot. She was born on April 18, 1924 in Frankfort, the daughter of Lewis and Marion (Thompson) Kingsbury Sr. In her earlier years she worked in the shoe factories in Belfast, then went on to cook for the Deborah Lincoln House and the jail where she became a deputy sheriff. She was known for her Seafood Chowder to her family and friends. Mildred also had a love for her animal friends of the past, including Sheba, Trixie, Bridgett and Sunny. She also liked spending time doing puzzles. She will be remembered by her friends at Penobscot Nursing Home, where she recently resided, for her love of ice cream and Snickers bars. Mildred’s dedication to her faith in God was a very important part of her life.
She was predeceased by her husbands, Henry Hustus in 1989, and Lester Harrison in 2002; brothers, Roland, Leroy and sister Beryl. Mildred is survived by her loving step-children, Daniel L. Harrison and wife Anne of Stockton Springs, Judith Harrison and partner Sonya Weaver of Belmont; her siblings Lewis Kingsbury Jr. and wife Beatrice, Richard Kingsbury and Betty Nelson all of Bangor.
