Obituary of William Henry Miller

William Henry Miller Jr. - Bill surrendered his courageous battle with pancreatic cancer with all of his loving family and friend Mike Dube at his side on February 4, 2013. He was born January 27, 1952 in Danbury CT, the son of William H Miller Sr & Gilda P Miller. Bill worked as a carpenter. He studied to be a Paramedic and worked in EMS for over 20 years for Mayo Ambulance, Dover-Foxcroft, and Sebasticook Valley Ambulance in Pittsfield. He was Director of Hartland Ambulance and Medical Director of New Horizons for Young Women in Milo. He loved working on the ambulance, taking care of people and working with his ambulance partners, Laurine Farrar and Teresa Deering, looking for lawn balls and singing ‘Domanick the Christmas Donkey’. Bill was also a veteran of the U.S Navy. He was a member of the Wilderness Medical Association. Bill loved spending time with his family, watching people and seeing why they did what they did. He enjoyed raising Malumute dogs, Keno being his favorite. Bill also enjoyed wood carving, canoeing and spending time outdoor. Bill just enjoyed life and making the most of what he had and remained positive throughout his illness. Everyone who knew Bill took a little piece of him when they left him. He was a husband, son, brother, father, a great mentor and friend.
Survivors include his loving wife, Rachel Roux of Corinna; his mother Gilda Miller of Dover, brother Gary Miller and girlfriend Cindy of West Cornwall, CT; daughter Melissa and husband Guy Nelson of Lincoln; son Joel Miller and girlfriend Staci Carson of Unity, Joshua Miller and wife Heather of Dexter; grandchildren Domanick, Tristen, Ayla, Rosalie, Cameron, Sophia, Natalie; and Rachel's children Richard Butler, Jaime Piantodosie, Adam Butler, Brooke Barnes; and grandchildren Autumn, Colby, Morgan and Kiana.
A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be February 22, 2013, from 3:00 pm to 7:00pm when fireworks will go off in his honor. For directions please call Rachel 207-487-1232 or Heather 207 924-4156.
