Obituary of Joyce Parks Provan

JOYCE L. (PARKS) PROVAN, 84 of Belfast, passed away on February 9, 2013. She was born on November 9, 1928 in Presque Isle, Maine, the daughter of Philip and Clara (Johnston) Parks. In Joyce’s earlier years, she was very active in her church. She enjoyed needlepoint and cooking but her favorite hobby was reading. Joyce also spent time watching out for her husband, Bob. She is predeceased by her parents and first husband Lewis Woodworth. Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Robert “Bob” Provan of Belfast; her children, Richard Woodworth and wife Heidi of Mars Hill and Steven Woodworth and wife Kimberlee of Mars Hill; her step-sons, Christopher and Timothy Provan; grandchildren, Azea, Wendy, Jonathan, Justin, Jason; great-grandchildren, Alec, Blake, Jackson, Aubrey, Cassie, Benjamin, Makayla; and great-great-granddaughter Iris; several cousins. A memorial gathering will be held on February 26, 2013 at 3 p.m. at Waldo County Technical Center Cafeteria with service to follow at 3:30 p.m. Those who wish may make memorial contributions in her memory to Waldo County Technical Center, Retirees Scholarship Fund, 1022 Waterville Road, Waldo, ME 04915.
