Obituary of Roland L. Brown
Roland L. Brown, 81, of Bangor, Maine, died February 12th, 2013 at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was born in Hermon, September 22nd, 1931 the son of Allen and Altara(Nowell) Brown. He is survived by two sons, Ryan T. Brown of Ware, MA and Rusty R. Brown of Old Town, Maine, grandson, Alexander T. Brown also of Old Town, Maine and many nieces and nephews in the greater Bangor area. He is predeceased by 5 siblings; Clifford Brown, Eugene Brown, Josephine (Brown) Pomeroy, Hilda (Brown) Willey, Dorothy (Brown) Lesser.
Roland was an avid motorcyclist and enjoyed motorsports and volunteering at Speedway-95 with his predeceased life partner Bonnie (McClure) Hayman.
Roland was a proud Korean War veteran serving overseas in the Air Force.
Roland will be remembered for his humor, energetic lifestyle and strong work ethic bringing warmth and comfort to families by restoring heating systems.
Roland will be cremated and a remembrance picnic will be held this summer. There will be a posting in June regarding time and location. His ashes will be spread on the farm he loved in Hermon, Maine and the West Branch of the Penobscot river under the grandeur of Mt. Katahdin where his sons love to flyfish.
In lieu of of flowers, loved ones can donate to the social club at the Bangor House where Roland enjoyed community and companionship over the past seven years. May his spirit remain forever young.
