Obituary of Beth E. Hopkins

Beth E. (Dodge) Hopkins, 63 of Belfast, passed away unexpectedly on March 18, 2013 at her home. She was born May 3, 1949 in Biddeford, the daughter of Earl and Madeline (Stevens) Dodge. Beth graduated from Mt. View, class of ’67 and attended stewardess school in Minnesota. She went on to train for her CNA and started her work at Bradbury Nursing Home. Beth became employed at Waldo County General Hospital where she gave care to many patients for over 35 years while raising three children. Her family remembers it as one of her greatest enjoyments. She couldn’t pass up a yard sale, and also enjoyed gardening and planting her flowers. She is predeceased by both parents and a brother, Steven Dodge. Beth is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Barry Hopkins of Belfast; Michelle “Missy” Turner and husband Jamie of Arizona, Richard “Rick” Hopkins of Belfast and Michael “Mike” Hopkins of Southwest Harbor; her siblings, Bob Dodge of Jackson and Connie Hooper of Belfast; her beloved grandchildren, Kassidy, Keagan, Kolby, Aaliyah and Kassandra; great-granddaughter Aubrey; several nieces, nephews and cousins; her thorn in her side” dog, Jackson and many special friends.
