Obituary of Marjorie J. MacDonald

Marjorie J MacDonald, passed away late April 9 at Clover Nursing Home, Auburn. Born in Wrentham Massachusetts April 16, 1927, the daughter of Sigard Larsen of Norway, who emigrated to Wrentham in the 1920s and Eva Whitney of Presque Isle. Marjorie grew up in Wrentham and later attended high school in North Attleboro, MA where she was active in sports and was voted The Most Athletic girl in her class! She was captain of the girls basketball team and played tennis. She married Ross E MacDonald in 1948, and they were avid golfers at Heather Hill Country Club where Marge was named Club Champion. They also enjoyed traveling, having driven cross country. In 1999 they moved to Turner, Maine to be near their grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Ross of 64 years, her son Ross Jr and wife, Jeanette of Livermore, grandchildren, Ross E MacDonald of North Carolina, Megan MacDonald Thorne of Scarborough, Aaron Macdonald of Auburn, and Jill Brown of Bangor; great- granddaughter, Kathryn Rose MacDonald of N. Carolina, also, one brother, Charles Larsen, of North Attleboro; and half sister Barbara Larsen, half brothers William Larsen and Bradford Larsen all of N. Attleboro. A memorial service will be held at Clover Nursing Home Sunday April14 at 4:00 p.m. On-line condolences may be offered at www.directcremationofmaine.com.
