Obituary of Rena C. Woodrow

Rena C. Woodrow, 91, of Belfast went home to be with the Lord Saturday April 27, 2013. She was born in Belfast February 1, 1922 a daughter of the late Theodore and Winneford (Brailey) Curtis. It is difficult to convey in words how much mom means to us. What she taught us remains with us and is a part of us. Her life was truly a life of faith. She didn’t talk about love, she simply loved us. She taught us to honor God, the bible, and church. Whatever life brought her, she made the most of. She didn’t feel sorry for herself or complain, but always found plenty to be grateful for. When dad died she embraced her freedom. Though she loved him deeply, she loved her Lord even more. She simply wouldn’t lose heart. She believed that God meant everything for good, and that makes all the difference. She lived a long and fruitful life, and there are many who miss her. Even though these last few years have been difficult for all of us, we would prefer to still have her with us. The truth is that she is with her Lord, and that is her reward for a life of faith in Him. Rena was a strong woman of faith and was a devoted wife and mother. For many years she worked as a caregiver for the Deborah Lincoln House. She enjoyed gardening but most of all spending time with her family. Rena is survived by her children: Bill Woodrow Jr and his wife Susan of Maryland, Doreen Ramsey and her husband Don of Northport, Dan Woodrow and his wife Jackie of Belfast, John Woodrow and his wife Elaine of Hampden, Jane Harford and her husband Steve of Swanville, and Mark Woodrow and his wife Susan of Northport; 21 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren as well as her brother Ted Curtis and his wife Joyce of Belfast. She was predeceased by her husband William Woodrow Sr in 1983, her brothers Al and Bobby Curtis, a great grandson Hunter and a great granddaughter Danielle. A graveside service will be announced in August. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.ripostafh.com.
