Obituary of Gloria Flanders

GLORIA FLANDERS, 85, passed away August 1, 2013 at Brewer. She was born in Rockland on September 8, 1927, a daughter of Claus and Sadie (DeCosta) Svensen. Gloria was known as a hard worker, starting at Penobscot Poultry for 25 years and later worked daily for years with her son, Ed, at Bay Area Fitness. She enjoyed doing crafts and loved playing Santa Claus for children. She was predeceased in 1980 by her husband Ed Flanders; her siblings, Marjorie Kaler, Shirley House, Frank DeCosta, Sara Robinson. Gloria is survived by her son, Ed Flanders and fiancé Vicki Nickerson of Belfast; two grandchildren, Ashley and Adam; several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday August 4th at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast.
