Obituary of Auguste A LaRochelle
Auguste A. LaRochelle died peacefully at his home in Augusta on Saturday, Aug. 30.
He was born on Aug. 29, 1926, in Concord, Maine. Auguste served in the Army during both World War II and the Korean War. He then worked as a machine tender at Statler Tissue for 40 years and retired in 1991.
"Gus" had a love of family. On June 26, 1954, he married Therese LaPointe and together they had three children. He is survived by his wife; two brothers, Roland LaRochelle and Patrick LaRochelle; his oldest son, Jon LaRochelle, and his partner, Karen Wilcox, of Augusta; daughter Lori LaRochelle and her partner, Brent Elwell, of Augusta: and a son, David LaRochelle, of Colorado. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Tarsha White and fiance Chris Cote, Jason LaRochelle, Derrick White, Kenney LaRochelle and his partner, Molly Suttie, Desire Peletier, Adam LaRochelle, Jack LaRochelle and Helen LaRochelle; and three great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, Ephram and Alfreda LaRochelle; brothers Lionel, Wilfred, Clarence and his wife, Hilda, and Paul and his wife, Connie; sisters Adella Bogg and her husband, Norman, Evelyn Paradis and her husband, Joe, and Yvette Jean and her husband, Raymond.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and skiing, along with spending summers at his camp on Annabassacook Lake. All these he enjoyed sharing with family and friends. Auguste was a member of the American Legion, Le Club Calumet, and Cushnoc Senior Citizens. Gus valued the companionship of his great-grand dog Mia, who frequented his bedside during his final months.
The family would like to thank MaineGeneral Hospice and Dr. Schneid and Jill Carter (PA) of Togus V.A. for the excellent and loving care he received during his illness.

Funeral service hours will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7, at St. Mary's Church, followed by a celebration of his life at Le Club Calumet. All are welcome. Auguste will be laid to rest at
