Obituary of James P. Allen

Monroe Jim Allen, died unexpectedly September 29, 2013. Jim was born May 20th 1957 in Bangor, the son of Shapleigh C. Allen and Frances B. Allen. He attended Bangor schools and graduated from Bangor High School in 1975. Jim was known for his gentle, loving spirit and great smile. He loved all pets, and always had at least one dog and 2 cats. He appreciated being outside in a natural setting in Maine. He enjoyed the many friends he made as an employee of the Belfast Co op, and also in the community of Monroe. He enjoyed being with his family and friends, especially when sharing meals and holiday celebrations. He was ready to offer a helping hand to anyone in need. Jim was predeceased by his parents, and one brother, Gary P. Allen. He is survived by one brother, Robert C. Allen and wife Linda of Veazie, and by his sisters, Judith Allen Linnemeyer of Bangor and Donna Allen Dupuy and husband Yvan of Blue Hill. Also surviving are nephews, Jason, Michael, and Gregory Dupuy and nieces Amy Levesque, Wendy Moro, Jenny Moro Ortiz, Stacy Allen Bowers, and Kelly Allen. Relatives, friends, and community members are welcome to attend a reception to honor and remember Jim at the Riposta Funeral Home at 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast on Sunday, October 20th from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
