Obituary of Kenneth E. Curtis
Kenneth E. Curtis, 71, of Belfast, passed away on October 1, 2013, after a long illness. He was born in Belfast on September 16, 1942, a son of the late Clinton and Lillian (Erickson) Curtis. Kenney enjoyed the company of his family and his years driving bus for Waldo County Transportation. He was very proud of his accomplishments and the trophies he earned during the bus rodeos in which he participated.
Kenney was predeceased by his beloved wife of many years, Caroline Curtis, siblings Dorothy, Robert, Donald, Richard, and Clyde, and son-in-law, Matthew Doyle.
He leaves behind his children: Laurel Murphy of Belfast, who was his beloved daughter and caregiver, Cathy Doyle of Belfast, Anita Black of Trenton, Jeffrey Stevens and his wife Kathy of Belfast, and Gregory Stevens of Belfast; 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; sister Shirley Curtis and sister-in-law Judy Lewis. He will be greatly missed by Norah, who lived with Grampa Kenney for many years, and will also be missed by his good friend Steve Brown. He had many nieces and nephews and he especially enjoyed his visits with nephew Dennis Curtis, who spent time listening to his stories.
The family would like to extend their thanks and gratiude to grandaughter Anita Murphy, grandson Charlie Murphy, and his dear Home Health Aide and friend Holly Leblanc, for all their care.
A service will be held at the VFW Hall in Belfast at 12 PM on Sunday, October 20, 2013. A committal service will follow at the East Northport Cemetery, Rte. 1, Northport. A gathering will be held at the VFW Hall in Belfast following the service.
