Obituary of Allison O. Dubay

Allison “Al” O. Dubay, 82 of 19 Parsonage Rd. No. Yarmouth, Maine died peacefully on October 2st at Maine Medical Center after complications with a cancer diagnosis surrounded by loved ones. He was born May 6, 1931 in Fort Fairfield, Maine, son of Herman Leslie and Vesta (McAllister) Dubay. At 18 he enlisted in the Air Force and served for 23 years working on Main frame computers for the military all over the United States and the world while raising a family. He earned the rank of Chief Master Sargent. Upon retiring to his home state of Maine he worked various jobs but settled at Earl Noyes and Sons in Portland and was employed there for 20 years. He continued to work well into his 70s. Al married the love of his life, Carol Libby, February 3,1984, a partnership that lasted almost 30 years. They built their lives in No. Yarmouth and Delray Beach Florida. Al was a passionate outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his buddies, children and grandchildren at camp in Patten. In Delray he served as a volunteer member of C.O.P. and was respected and revered by all. He was a daily reader of the Portland Press Herald; loved crossword puzzles, Bingo and playing cards and dominoes with friends and family. Al was always busy, finding things to do around the house in Maine and in Florida. One of his biggest passions was his Great-grandchildren, and would often play ball with them, and loved to attend their games. Al was a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan. Al was predeceased by his parents, Herman and Vesta and 2 brothers Harold, and Fred Dubay. Al was greatly loved and will be missed by his wife Carol, his children, Adam Dubay and wife Jennifer Walker and Abby Dubay-Troiano and her husband Jeffrey; his step children, Stephen and Kim Libby and his grandchildren, Justin Troiano, Kristen Rodriguez and her husband Enrique, Travis and Dustin Libby, Olivia, Benjamin, Daniel and his great grandchildren, Owen and Lily Rodriguez; along with family and friends too numerous to count. As well as his beloved dog Tobie. At Al's request there will be no funeral services held but a party in honor and celebration of his life will take place at a later date. Special thanks to the R4 nursing unit team at Maine Medical Center, especially Andrew van derKrol, whose loving kindness guided us at this difficult time. In leiu of flowers, donations can be made in Al's memory to your local Humane Society.
